Description of Recall

On specific Hummer H2 SUVs and crew cab trucks, the second row middle passenger seat belt direction created some difficulty, particularly in case of smaller occupants, seated the rear region.

Proper use of booster seat or child seat, as suggested for small kids, did upgrade the healthy condition for users. Additionally, instructions on proper young child or infant restraint (with boosters or child seats), unique verbiage for warning older kid were included in manual of the owner.

In addition to the recommended seat belt routings or fit for passengers, irrelevant seating position, was described in the owner manual. Because of these awkward seat belts, the driver could not respond properly that caused some minor accidents.

Any More Issues; Not Really!

To avoid this situation, 2005 Hummer H2 recalls were made, which rectified the problem completely. This issue was not observed in the future generation H2 models either.
